About the centre

A New Standard in Alternative Education

Ballito Learning Centre is a specialised academic centre for learners who need something other than a mainstream classroom — and who deserve more than a compromise.

Our mission

Cultivate a lasting love for learning by providing engaging, creative, and supportive educational experiences that inspire every student to grow with confidence and curiosity.

Who we are

Between homeschooling and mainstream schooling.

Families arrive at alternative education from very different directions. Some have been homeschooling and want structure, accountability and a room of peers. Others are leaving a mainstream school that stopped working — for academic reasons, or social ones, or because the pace was never going to suit the learner in front of it.

We sit deliberately between those two worlds. Learning here is personalised and flexible: the curriculum, the timetable and the level of support are set around the learner rather than inherited from a term plan. That flexibility is the point, not a concession.

Underneath it sits a psychologist-led foundation. Understanding how a learner processes, attends and copes is not a specialist add-on at the centre — it shapes how every session is planned, which is why neurodiverse learners are welcome here by design.

We also believe that creativity plays an important role in a student’s overall growth and development. Confidence is built as much in a project as in a test, and both belong in the week.

A calm, light-filled study room at Ballito Learning Centre
The centre

Space that supports the work.

A calm, clean environment does a quiet amount of the teaching. Our Ballito centre is set up accordingly.

  • Classrooms with favourable ratios

Rooms sized so a facilitator can reach every learner in a session, not just the ones who put a hand up.

  • Reception & admin

A staffed front desk for parents, enrolments and the day-to-day running of the centre.

  • Kiddies area

A dedicated space for our youngest learners, scaled and settled for foundation-phase work.

  • Cafeteria & chill zone

Somewhere to eat, decompress and reset between sessions — part of the school day, not an afterthought.

  • Study labs & private tuition spaces

Quiet rooms for focused independent study and for one-on-one sessions that need the door closed.
